Founder, Parasole Restaurant Holdings
An Industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Phil Roberts
has
created several successful restaurant concepts and co-founded the
Minneapolis-based restaurant development company, Parasole
Restaurant
Holdings, Inc. as well as Idein.
Today Parasole owns and operates Manny's Steakhouse, Chino Latino,
The
Good Earth, Muffuletta and Figlio. In 1993, Roberts created
Buca
di Beppo, a $300M nationwide chain of over 100 Italian restaurants.
Buca
went public in 1999. That year, Roberts also created The
Oceanaire Seafood Room, which now has seven highly successful
outlets coast to coast, with three additional Oceanaires scheduled
to
open in 2005.
Recently, Phil was selected by Emerald Capital to receive
The
Entrepreneurial Excellence Award. He is a frequent speaker at
business forums and is a consultant to various industry entities.
Kevin Kuester
Partner, Idein
Partner, Parasole Restaurant Holdings
Kevin Kuester has extensive experience in virtually every aspect
of creative development for projects with both national and
international
audiences.
Prior to creating Idein, Kevin served as core visionary for
Kuester
Partners, the Minneapolis-based brand agency he led for 18 years.
Clients
ranged from Infiniti automobiles and the French Government
Tourism
Board to Steinway & Sons, Universal Studios and Parasole
Restaurant
Holdings. Collaborating with the then-client Phil Roberts,
the
team created a series of hit restaurant experiences, including
Buca di Beppo, The Oceanaire Seafood Room and Chino Latino.
As Partner at Parasole Restaurant Holdings, Kevin oversees the
brand
experience of the company's portfolio of restaurants while leading
Idein
in the development of new concepts. He holds a Bachelor's of
Fine Arts
degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where
he also
completed postgraduate work and later lectured.
Kip Clayton
Vice President of Business Development, Idein
Kip has more than 25 years of diverse experience successfully developing,
launching and promoting new products and brands in a variety of high-
growth companies and industries.
As Vice President of Business Development for Idein, Kip is responsible
for developing and cultivating client relationships while overseeing
Idein's talent bank of restaurant industry experts in the development,
delivery and operations of a variety of restaurant concepts. In addition,
Kip is responsible for brand development strategies and marketing for
Parasole restaurants and a select group of client restaurants.
Kip holds an MBA from The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Graduate
School of Business.
